Our Family Games
A game player I had not been
Except at times when drinking gin
Playing cards with my brothers
Shouting out at one another
Of the games that we played
Were some I won on better days
When lady luck was again
On my side so I could win
And with the games of my family
The competition was great indeed
With some cheaters and some players
Each vying to be greater
And cigars my family tried
When at poker on Saturday nights
But the smoke proved too much
Making sick all of us
When the gambling was over and done
Our problems we had overcome
And we knew we’d play again
Trying our best to get the win
