Seeing You

My brain waves are scattered,

it’s a mosh pit of mixed emotions that tremble on the curves of my flesh on a warm summer day,

My heart palpitates a rhythmic beat that no soul would ever understand,

It’s terrifying and exciting, a whirlwind ride that won’t let you off at the next stop,

These hands are shaky, and anxiety makes a fool of my words,

My arms stretch out and my fingertips brush the edge of relief,

Hoping to rid my self of the distress and anguish that burdens this vessel,

But I find no solace here.

When I see him, nothing else matters,

Every thought in my brain, every demon in my soul rests,

His smile caresses the darkest of places in my being,

And I can fill my lungs with the calmest breath.
