Every time we are there
She comes to our table,
The manager of the coffee shop,
Sometimes just to say hello,
Occasionally to chat.
This time she stopped,
Stopped for a few minutes.
We spoke of holidays
Of marriage proposals,
Of work,
We spoke of many things.
To me it was wonderful
As we spoke with meaning,
Which is something I miss,
Miss in my wife’s world,
Her world of dementia.
I therefore thank her,
Thank her so much,
To lead me into a world,
A world of intelligent conversation.
