What on Earth is a BARREL ACROSTIC you may ask ?
Well it is a free verse Acrostic and it ends up shaped
like a BARREL by virtue of an UP & DOWN syllabus
count ! If the word has an EVEN number of letters
there are TWO equal middle lines and if ODD there
is only ONE ! Because Barrels have a flat top and
bottom you start and finish with TWO or MORE
syllables. Mine is 3 4 5 6 6 5 4 3 ! It sounds easy
but the skill is getting the length of the lines RIGHT.
I do this by TYPING the Acrostic into WORD first and
then adjusting the lines with ~ etc to get it right !
