Our Railroad Town
There was a train in our town
And we heard it every day
As we rode our bikes around
And played just blocks away
As we grew older we learned
That the railroad could be a career
With good pay that we earned
And retirement pay for years
The trains always went
To cities down the line
And hours we would spend
‘til we finally arrived
As railroad men we knew
The places where we went
But each trip was like new
And was an exciting event
The trains traveled far
And were always on a schedule
And ran through cities and farms
A little slower and more respectful
The return back to our families
Always made us glad
For the welcome we received
And the lives that we had
