A walk without purpose a night without love,
Many lights still burn, through curtains now drawn.
Cold like a ghost wanders through street and road,
No sound save the step that a black boot makes.
The reel of the lead returns to where it will stop,
His four feet walking will not make a single sound.
Trudging dark streets where moon memories made,
Those Thoughts and times, wander there close behind.
This journey now ends, iced breath and those beads,
Have finally taken it’s toll on my legs, neck and hands.
Steam and sweat on his body, fill the room as he falls,
On the rug near the fire, a nightly dog walk now ends....
