Jesus by treasury
Sat, there did people see
Saw how they cast their money in
Many rich did begin
Begin to cast in much
They had a lot, was such
That they it gave, and then there came
A poor widow, the same
The same did she, and cast
Two mites in, were here last
Last coins that she had she gave
That farthing did not waive
For \'twas two leptas*, mites (*small copper coins)
The reason she alights
To cast them in to treasury
Makes farthing, kodrantes** (**a Roman coin)
Jesus said, She had more
Cast in than all before
For they cast in from abundance
She cast in all her pence
Even all her living
Not knowing when next thing
Of life\'s money matters would come
She gave all for [Christ] the Son
