Tune: Ewing
(\'Jerusalem the golden\')
Psalm 84 parts
******
How lovely are your dwellings
My soul them pleasant sings
Amiable and friendly
Your tabernacles be
O Lord of hosts, my soul longs
In your courts it belongs
It e\'en faints for you, reside
In my heart, pray, abide
Blessed are they whose strength in you
They may daily renew
And in whose heart are your ways
They follow all their days
Who passing through the Valley
Of Weeping*, make it see (*the Valley of Baca)
A well, a spring, and the rain
Does water it again
They go from strength to strength there
And comforts they may share
Each one before God appears
And unto them He nears
O Lord of hosts, hear my prayer
I assured you are there
O God, our shield, look upon
Christ your anointed Son
A day in your courts better
Than a thousand, confer
Between selves, but none found is
Compared to this, its bliss
I rather take humble role
As door-keeper here, soul
It is content, I dwell not
With wicked, poor their lot
The Lord God is a sun, shield
Will us grace, glory yield
No good thing will He withhold
\'Tis true, let it be told
To those who live uprightly
O Lord, blessed [they] who trust in you
And they by faith you view
