so you find yourself stuck
on an interstate surrounded by
wrecks of cars you
drove too close to
and tankers meant to sate
your petroleum thirst
spill their caustic contents
into ditches
and you wonder
where is your drive
your want to become more
or less stranded
on a foreign highway
dead to all but the nostrils
upturned driving by
and cutting your thumb off
no ride would be good enough
so you stay wandering
where is the goddamn taxi
to take me to the underworld
so i can eat some pomegranate seeds
car wrecks, feckless and earn less
want more but never open
a door
