Nobody want to swim
Instead, they lay in the heat
Hoping to get a tan
Dark enough to hide their insecurities
Nothing wrong with that
Meanwhile, I go in alone
Something I don\'t mind
I sit, not too deep to sink
Not too shallow to float
And I wait
I wait for the tide to pull me deeper
For the pull to make me struggle
And for the waves to crash over my head
Suffocating me only for a brief moment
Not enough to drown
Not enough to breathe
The current turns lukewarm
As I spend my day in the ocean
The same as I do on land
