Colour my night

What colour did your day end?
I think it was kind of green
An other-worldly unrecognisable blend
Not a green you\'ve ever seen
But lonely shade that soft silence intends

It is the kind of green you don\'t quite see
Not in the forest
Nor in the sea
In fact it smelled like oranges
I think it was meant, just for me

Please do not feel saddened
At the solitude of my green
It was just a moment
In a sleepy head that is rarely seen
In the moning I might be yellow
Because I woke up to words serene

****

Today no one enquired
What colour was my night?
What shade woke me up?
What colour was the liquid in my morning cup?

I lay in Noone\'s heart
I lay in Noone\'s head
Noone is my soulmate
His words are scriptures red

But red is not the colour of my day
Oh no! The night, the day, all came to grey!
Not the mellow misty magic kind
A darker grey that claws behind

It chokes me and it holds me tight
My sweetest friend day and night
It tells me I am Nothing
That I am even less
That Noone has forgotten me
That forgotten grey my grave will rest
