The Lady who Leapt

Freedom now and ever after

Hope lingered but briefly, chapter by chapter

Too long, kept on in secrecy

Come fast the time. Unchained to be

Strange Spectators shriek and shudder

But not a word could ever utter

No words now, no lips could pass

To change the leap that was too vast

Freedom now and ever after

Unto a world promised peace would capture

Enveloped by soft river’s landing

Alone at last, existence expanding

Far away now from those who never know

That which leaping lady dare not show

Or perhaps free from world’s complicit collusion

The ancient masterpiece. Human illusion!

Waters greet with gushing grace

The lonely lady who lost her face

And found it flowing through a dream

But all they hear. Her haunting scream.
