The Bunnies’ Grove

Looking in the grove

there are graves

beneath willows

So calmly overgrown,

with the grass and the loam.

Where does a memory go?

When the listeners have all but gone

Like bunnies in the woods

When it’s getting too dark

They hop down into their dens

To their families,

Underneath

Where the ground becomes a home

With a tombstone roof up above

Where does a memory go?

When no one remembers

What happens to a love

when there are no more lovers?

They hop down into the grove

To the dens, beneath willows

So calmly overgrown

With the grass and the loam.
