I watched white turn red
I wait to see it flow
I stare off
And think of wars where blood flows like a river
It drips on tiles
My mind goes to hospitals where blood doesn’t wash off the sheets
I don’t think about returning
To a reality worse than this
.t.b.
You made my life bittersweet
And I made yours bright
Now it is my turn
Now it is my turn
To make your days bitter
To be there each time you close your eyes
But never there when they are open
.t.b.
I stared at the sun and went blind
The sun moved as gracefully as me
The sun has warm eyes
And a warm smile
I looked at the mirror and I went blind
.t.b.
I stretch my leg to graze my bare foot on the green grass
I take a step forward
I admire the flowers growing wild
I caress the petals
Tear drops fall to soak in the sun
Dew drops trickle along
The grass may be greener on the other side
The grass is also sadder on the other side
.t.b.
Tears are clear
And bruises are purple
Some eyes are green
But mine are brown
Some hearts are red
But mine is blue
.t.b.
I put everyone ahead of me
I stay behind so others get ahead
I care more for others then me
I don’t have a purple heart
I just have a low self-esteem
