Whate\'er the law says, it says to those
Under the law, so mouths stopped, close
Mankind standing before God silent
No self-defence, but penitent
Our spiritual state, sinners, guilty
If Christ is not our Saviour, see
Nothing I can say in my defence
But solely trust in Christ from hence
I coem to you Lord, hands here empty
Nothing to offer to you, see
With which to save self, but receiving
Christ\'s righteousness, I believing
Not my good works, they ne\'er can atone
For Christ me saves, and He alone
Not my self-righteousness I give you
But in Christ stand before you true
By deeds of law no flesh justified
In God\'s sight, they shall be denied
For by the law is knowledge of sin
Only God\'s grace can cleanse within
