Leaves On The Lawn.

Am I from round here, what do I do?
Somehow I\'d like to write about that
Write over tea and teardrops
But, with Sun on the lawn
And, fun on the doorstep
Where violence is kept.

Are you from round here, what do you do?
Somehow I\'d quite like to think about that
More tea and teardrops
And, a love overdrawn
Violence in love affairs
On the balcony or upstairs.

Are you from round there, what does it do?
Somehow you\'d teach me all about that
Over more tea and teardrops
And, birds in the sky
A silence lonely in grace
And, a happy smiling face

Are we from round here, what should we do?
Somehow someone would tell us about that
No more tea and teardrops
Or love passing by
With Paris, we\'ll find
A love for life in mind.

Is she from round here, how do you do?
But, I think I\'d quite like to talk about that
Talk over gin in tea and teapots
Silence is golden
With leaves on the lawn
But, we\'re from round here
With heartaches at dawn.
