Knife crime

All these lost lives from fights, knives.
Where some say they are just trying to survive.
Some see it as just staying alive.

Carrying a blade to protect what their mum made.
Four to five knife crimes a week,
some not so bad,
some wounds are just too deep.
Deep enough to kill.
Deep enough for an ambulance to peak.
Resuscitation is a sight no one wants to see,
a sight a mother doesn\'t want to believe.
That their child,
the one they feed,
the one they gave birth to,
nurtured the second they saw them breath.

I once thought I loved someone, who took away the life,
of someone who was loved.

The shock of the horror turns my blood cold,
thinking this person had a heart of gold.
Not only one life is deceased,
but two,
all because of a knife and an argument that happened in the middle of a street.

Anytime day or night,
these kids feel fright,
so they carry a knife.
They worry about the consequences another time.
Unless they are killed,
then unfortunately they lose their life,
not having to worry about a single thing ever again,
including their family who are left behind.
