We Fought
We were the lions
And they were the goats
Opponents on a Friday night
Looking to impress the coach
We played every year
Sometimes for the district title
And the fans all cheered
As we battled hard our rival
The fans thought it was great
The way that we fought
In a battle the same
As a veteran they thought
After we’d come to understand
What good sports would do
The players all shook hands
When the game was through
Our players and the vets
Were each part of a team
And we fought our very best
When pushed to an extreme
