QUARENTA is the Spanish for FORTY so a QUARENTA is a
40 syllable Poem in five lines of 8 syllables in Iambic
Tetrameter. BRIAN & I devised this form to allow 9 more
syllables than a TANKA (5 7 5 7 7 = 31) and to give the
Poem a more compact shape when written ! It is AUTUMN
in New Zealand which is why I have chosen that SEASON !
