Painful Painting

You’re like a painting,
Floating around in these walls,
I’m fading.
Oh baby I’ve explored you all.
Everywhere I look,
It’s like we’re both on that hook.

I can feel all your strokes,
I can feel all your brushes,
I can hear you say shush up,
But baby I’m so hooked.
Painful painting I love you so much.

We’re both hanging on here,
I’ve tried to wipe away all the smears,
But I can’t figure what went wrong here.
Can you feel me call on you when you’re gone, dear?
It’s as painful as a song,
You’ve no idea how much I miss you when you’re gone.

I’ve tried to capture your image,
But when you disappear, I go timid.
Nothing tastes as sweet as the original,
Baby, you’re so original,
So sweet it’s almost fictional.

I look at you, you look away,
Were you even looking at me that way?
All these questions I can’t ask,
Because the heartbreak is too drast-
It can’t last.
But honestly I can’t bring myself to let go,
You’re so perfect and I don’t want you to go.
