Blackout Poem

When I see those smiles,

Hers are with his,

All I felt was those cankered sores.

All I wanted was nothing to hide from.

As the void is spinning and it sucks me in,

I am not willing and I gain nothing from this grief.

I know nothing of loves genetics,

Nor a good conscience.

From the fire and the flames, this is what you’ve become of.

Wetten your brain, moisten your heart.

Everything I fought for, was your attitude.

With you, I wasn’t who I was.

I was young, vulnerable, stupid.

So were you.

They thought it wouldn’t work.

We did too.
