An Old Tractor
There was an old tractor
There beside a fence
A relic in a pasture
That was parked way back when
To us it was art work
That a farmer family saved
From days working mother earth
And finally retired one day
The metal had rusted long ago
But was admired still
There so close to the road
And still parked in its own field
There were blue bonnets in the scene
To make things colorful
And to pick one was to demean
The place so wonderful
The seat was still there
And the children took their turns
Going everywhere
As they gave the wheel a turn
And it began to rain
As we left the site
And our memories would remain
Of the tractor that survived
