We should explain some of the Chemistry of Wine.
FERMENTATION converts some of the Grape Sugar into
ETHANOL (CH3CH2OH) and CO2 ~ Some of the ETHANOL
is oxidised to ETHANAL (CH3CHO) and then to ETHANOIC
ACID (CH3COOH) which is VINEGAR ~ SIMPLE !
This explains why ~ when opened and exposed to AIR
(oxygen) WINE should be consumed within 2 or 3 days !
This gives MEN an good scientific excuse to always finish
a BOTTLE ! If you visit a WINERY and see the TLC that is
lavished on growing the GRAPE and producing and blending
and aging and marketing the WINE ~ Then it is well worth
the asking PRICE ! Angela & I always try to visit VINEYARDS
