River Rock

The pressures of time roll off my back.
Sometimes the sun is warm. Too warm.
I was jaded when I was younger, now I’m smoother than a hummingbird.

I was kissed once. By a beautiful rainbow trout. I will never know how I arrived at this place. I guess I’m the offspring of something larger. Maybe a big bang of mythical proportions.

I often think what\'s in store for me. Is this the highlight of my life? A life of stillness filled with epic chaos and boredom. Which do I prefer?

A life without chaos is not a life worth living.

Maybe a young hand will pluck me up one day and try to toss me further down the river. I hope not. I hope so...as long as I don’t end up on the river bank of life watching the world flow by.

This is my chasm. Am I the only rock that has these thoughts?
