Dreams

You thought once that you might conquer the world. You saw success and power and you desired it. You believed you were worthy. As you grew, your dreams shrunk until they were too small to be noticed, trampled by the busyness of the ‘real world’. Crushed by the meaningless routines that you were forced to believe were important. Destroyed by the people who told you that you weren’t good enough.

Part of you longs for the dreams you once had, fills you with bitterness at society’s imperfections. But your anger drifts away like the morning tide and you are once again filled with the anxiety of the present.
