Help us to know and to believe
Your love, and it by faith receive
Holy Spirit come to our aid
Your graces unto us arrayed
God is love, so He be, and who
Does swell in love dwells in God too
And God does dwell in such ones, they
Look unto Him, they watch and pray
Here our love made perfect, so we
Have boldness in judgement day, see
Because as Christ is, so are we
in this world, and with Him agree
There be no fear in love, but how?
Perfect loved does cast out fear now
Because fear has torment and threat
Of punishment, such are not yet
Not yet made perfect in love, though
They more of Christ\'s great love may know
We love Him, because He first loved
Us, and unto Him He encoved (encovenanted)
If one says they love God, but they
Hate their neighbour, yet though they say
They love God, how then can it be?
If hating neighbour who the ysee
For God is unseen, neighbour seen
God\'s command that we love not mean
But who loves God to love also
Their neighbour, and so in love grow
