There he is again
That lonely magpie
Looking happy enough
I think he knows something
I don’t
I think he wants to tell me
He looks a little full of himself
That solitary magpie
Stealing the garden berries
I think he might have all the answers
I don’t
I think he wants to show me
He’s relentless and not giving in
That handsome creature
Disturbing my ritual wallowing in autumnal shades
I think he thinks he belongs there where
I don’t
I think he wants to convince me
He’s flown off and now my garden is empty
That cocky little bird
Now I’m the one who is lonely
I think he thinks he can teach me to feel
I don’t
I think he might be just right
