ANGELA & BRIAN

TWO TANG OCTETS ๐Ÿ’™ BRIAN & ANGELA ๐Ÿงก

AUTUMN IN MY MOUNTAIN ABODE

Fresh rain has fallen on the vacant HILLS

Autumn evening brings its Winter CHILLS

Through the Pines the bright Moons moonlight SPILLS

The clear Stream flowing over rocks & RILLS

Bamboos rustle ~ Wash Maids ~ ply their SKILLS

Lotus stir ~ Fishboats with their fishes FILLS

Let Springs fragrance  ~ vanish where it TRILLS

May the Wanderer tarry where he WILLS !

THE ZHONGNAN MOUNTAINS

Near Celestial City of TAYEE

Where the waves of Mountains meet the SEA

Looking back ~ white clouds hiding it from ME

Into the azure mist it vanished BE

Its on the Central Peak of Regions THREE

Of valleys bright with SUN ~ or dark CLOUDY !

Seeking a *Shelter for the Night* ~ for FREE ?

I hail a WOODSMAN chopping down a TREE !

In the TANG DYNASTY (AD 618 - 761) there were 2,500 Poets

who wrote 50,000 recorded Poems ! In the original Chinese ~

TANG OCTETS have lines of 8 7 & 5 syllables. This meter is not

Maintained in Translation into English but the lines must scan !

In the Chinese there is a single RHYME for each line. The Rhyme

Pattern is  a a a a a a a a   I have maintained this in my Rhymed

Translation (based on Bruce Wilsons non-rhyming Translation)

and I have used a different Rhyme Word for each line ! In a Tang

Octet ~ the central QUATRAIN consists of two parallel COUPLETS

matched or contrasted with the Quality of Object ! Try writing one

for yourself ! I*ll post a new one on MONDAY. Love B & A ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™
