Pain and anguish, Jairus approached
Jesus, he was not reproached
Besought Him for his daughter ill
To heal her and his fears still
For his only daughter she lay
Dying, twelve years was her day* (*age)
Lord, come help before it too late
Patiently we for you wait
Later Jesus, He did there meet
Jairus\' friends who did him greet
With sad news, his daughter had died
What more now can be applied?
But Jesus to Jairus did say
Fear not, believe, this the way
And your daughter shall be made whole
Though death seems her life has stole
Jesus. Peter, James, and John they
With the girl\'s parents did pray
At the bedside, Christ said, Weep not
This shall turn to happy lot
In compassion He touched her hand
Said, Maid, arise, broke death\'s band
And her spirit did come again
She did rise from her bed then
All astonished, wonder and awe
Parents saved from troubles sore
Lord have mercy, inspire us so
To believe, and in faith grow
