In Blood and Bones

In Blood and Bones

Don’t keep me warm and free from harm

Show me the storm and seas un-calm

Take me to where life’s on the edge

The childhood dare on rocky ledge

Where hearts beat fast to hurt my chest

The crimson blast beneath my vest

In earnest, I will take control

Of this Furnace in my soul

Show me the dawn when skies are black

And please don’t mourn if I don’t come back

Just so penned in, I couldn’t stay

A Harlequin in a lovely play

I know you’re sad your tears are mine

But I’m so glad we shared our time

And I’ll be with you every day

In blood and bones and the things you say
