BEEF BOURGUIGNON FOR CHRISTMAS EVE ! ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’š A 6 4 4 SONNET

 

RECIPES IN RHYME No 6. BEEF BOURGUIGNON IS AN EXCELLENT DISH

CHRISTMAS EVE INSTEAD OF FISH ~ WARM UP FOR MIDNIGHT MASS ! 

 

TAKE two pounds of Rump of Beef 

Cut in two inch cubes ~ with knife of sheath

Place with four ounces Butter in Casserole

And heat with a spoonful of Olive Oil !

Brown the Meat ~ add an Onion (slice)

Cook & stir in Flour ~ Mmmmmm that smells NICE !

 

Warm a glass of Brandy ~ pour over and Flame

Add Garlic & Herbs & Red Wine & stir & stir again !

Cook in oven @ 300 F ~ for hours two

And stir ~ now & then ~ like an Irish Stew !

 

Six ounces of Bacon ~ twenty Onions (baby)

Fry in a frying pan ~ then add to the Gravy !

Add six ounces of Mushrooms to the savoury MIX

Cook thirty minutes ~ Best BOURGUIGNON to FIX !
