Tom Wood

#3

A primal sense of fear just filled my heart

And I\'m sorry, I don\'t mean to alarm

The ground is dark, and I wish to restart

Before Its lies have power to disarm

The deep, dark lake borders a sullen wood

A wind solemnly blows through the cold air

My eyes fail, or is hue misunderstood?

Or are my senses acutely aware?

My heart does strike with the beat of the drum

As I press through the tall, discordant trees

Oblivious to a low and sweet hum

The ground radiates a sense of unease

I\'ll keep pushing through until I collapse

The water, the drum, the colors relapse
