*********
When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, Judea
In days of King Herod, wise men drew near
From the east to Jerusalem they did come
Seeking the Christ-child, His hearth and His home
They said, Where is He that is born King of Jews?
For we His star in the east have seen, news
Of His birth reached us, we have come to worship
Him, and to share in His blessed fellowship
It announced by prophets that His birth would be
In Bethlehem, in land of Judea, see
He to be Governor, Ruler o\'er Israel
Shepherd to His people, come to save all
So they departed, the star before them went
Onward their journey, no slack or relent
Till the star rested, stood over the dwelling
Wherein Mary, Joseph, and Saviour King
They humbly worshipped, and gifts there most precious
Presented unto Him, here, Lord from us
Be pleased to receive our offerings to you
Now do our eyes you sure wondrously view
Gold, frankincense, and myrrh to Him presented
All that was told them was true, they were led
Seeing the star they rejoiced exceedingly
With great joy gave homage, bended the knee
When Jesus as born in Bethlehem, Judea
In days of King Herod, wise men drew near
From the east to Jerusalem they did come
Seeking the Christ-child, His hearth and His home
