Newton\'s law says that every object
in a state of uniform motion
will remain in that state of motion
unless an external force acts on it.
And I wonder about hungry hearts and
rough hands and bruised legs;
and that night when immortality
was coursing through our veins
and I told you I loved you
but you couldn\'t hear me
above the roaring of your full heart.
The night was infinite
we could\'ve eaten the world raw.
But the next morning we were mere human and
we vomited our guts out
with mascara running down our cheeks,
and I told you I loved you but you pretended to be asleep.
And I wonder if any of it was ever real,
if the laws of motion are real,
or if Newton was only searching for euphoria
within the hearts of dead men.
