My father, recently widowed
Told me today that he has \'met\' someone new.
He said to me he has known her for years
And their friendship had grown through the sharing of tears
Obviously i expressed concerns of worry
He said that he knew and there would be no hurry
He said he didn\'t know if this was long term
I breathed a sigh, full of compassion and love
I looked in his eyes and spoke with great care
“Dad\" i said “at your age long term just isn’t there!”
