When I was seventeen
I met my Sweet Prom Queen
The cutest Girl Id ever seen
When I was seventeen !
When I was twenty-one
My sweet Princess had GONE !
Shed found another One
When I was twenty-one !

I courted Sweet Marie
The things she said to me !
BUT ~ she was *Fun & Fancy Free*

Sweet Marie went off abroad
I dont see her no more

I almost met my fate with Kate
But she eloped with my best Mate
When I was twenty-eight !
When I was thirty three
Had LOVE eluded ME ?
When an ANGEL I did see

The first time that we met
A time that I will ne*er forget

Our future is secured ~ My faith in LOVE restored
