The wind whistling through the gaps in the door

Alone with my thoughts , going through memories I have treasured and adore

Got to this stage in my life where I am depending on others

Hard at first but I got there

Through the winters and the summers

Waiting for visitors to arrive

Just so I can hear about their busy lifes

Biscuit tin popped open

Conversations flowing

But can you hear me ?

Can you see me ?

I will wait till you’re all finished to ask me how I am

Please be patient I’m not as fast as I used to be and I ask please don’t finish my words for me

I may speak at a slow pace

But I have thousands of memories to share and embrace

Some good & some sad

All I ask for is a listening ear

Don’t get mad

I just want to feel close and near

To the ones I love so dear.
