not quite the city that never sleeps
in fact, a little sleepier
full of good booze and good views
only an hour from mountain peaks
and blistering winds
which seeks
to dissuade the recently arrived hoard
from going outside and exploring the outdoors
yet the adventure seekers still ascend;
the parking lots are still full by five am
and a native will dare you
to find a 14er that isn’t crowded
and even though it’s changed
and even though it may seem strange
that so many people flock to this high desert plain
it’s still home for now
and has some decent thai chow
the people are nice and the views still entice
just wish there was a little bit less snow and ice
