A Lifetime\'s Tale

Come, come,

Join me in a special delight,

Although boring to some,

This will be a jam-packed night,

For on this day,

A tale will be told,

Of the youth that sway,

And the slouch of the old,

We start at the beginning,

A beautiful moment to behold,

Parents stood grinning,

While they do what they\'ve been told,

You have arrived,

A new sight to behold,

Your body has thrived,

In this world so cold,

You grow and learn fast,

You become thinner and lean,

Every day a flag half-mast,

The education you seek and glean,

Gone in a flash,

You are no longer a youngling,

Like a one hundred meter dash,

The result is kind of disappointing,

Responsibility sets,

And you see the pressure rise,

A burden rests,

Underneath the vast blue skies,

Meetings,

Seatings,

Greetings,

Feelings,

Caught up in a new world,

A fresh experience,

Her hair is curled,

You make it more serious,

A proposal,

An acceptance,

You are at her disposal,

But alas there is an expectance,

A life worth living,

Another perspective,

A family worth bearing,

A new form of reflective,

Grey streaks appear,

A silver lining,

Death brings no fear,

No complaints, no whining,

A sweet release,

A silky black sail,

All has ceased,

A lifetime\'s tale.
