The Day the Alphabet Stood Still

A and B were waiting for C, when D came along and brought his friend E.
Now E was sad, missing F who was tripping the light fantastic to impress G, in all her glory.
But G didn\'t notice. She had fallen hopelessly head over heels for H, who unfortunately only had eyes for I.
Meanwhile, all eyes were on J, who desperately wanted to kiss K. \"No!\", said K, \"for L is the love of my life\". Unaware that M and N also had a thing for him.
Then their eyes met. O would never forget how stunning P was that night. With her sidekick Q, who never could decide if she was a backwards p, or an O with a slip of the pen.
Then as if out of nowhere, looking radiant as ever, R stepped into the scene wearing a wedding ring.
It shinned as bright as S, who was on his right; blinding T with her stunning shimmering sequins studded dress as she stepped into the light.

Suddenly, T tripped over U and sparks flew. V wanted vengeance so bad he could taste it.
But W, in all his wisdom warned, think twice. We don\'t want X to mark the spot that Y would gossip about for a zillion years with her pal Z; who\'s such a zero anyway.
Just then the band began to play, the cast lined up in alphabetical order, to do a line dance, that froze in time, in a photo taken by a photographer for the New York Times.
And from then on and forever more, writers were inspired by this photo, to mix up the order of who came first and who did what, to spin new stories  that make us laugh out loud, that make us cry, that make us fall in love, that make us sigh... that connect us.
