(\'Put thou thy trust in God\')
Luke 10 v.25-37
********
A good Samaritan
Did help his neighbour when
He saw him injured on the road
Along which he had trode
For a Jew did travel
And took his journey all
From Jerusalem made his way
To Jericho that day
But thieves did then attack
Him, He could not go back
Though priest passed by on other side
Levite did from him hide
But there in compassion
E\'en help other nation
Samaritan his wounds did bind
And for him shelter find
He took him to an inn
Gave the keeper therein
Two pence* for his keep, and if more (*two denarii - two days wages)
He would pay keeper sure
So which one was neighbour
To man who was robbed sure?
Asked Jesus, a lawyer replied
Toe one who stood beside
Not only stood, but gave
His love, and helped to save
Showed mercy on him Christ replied
Go you and do likewise
