A 7 x 7 x 7 CREATIVE RECIPROCATION POEM is an ENIGMA ! You select a BOOK (any BOOK) 1. You turn to page 7 2. Read the 7th Line (that is your Subject) 3. Write a seven line Poem on that Subject ! For EASTER (instead of an EGG) I has been given a Book by my Sister. *Mendelyevs Dream - The Quest for the Elements* I hadnt started to read it - So I opened @ page 7 and read the 7th line.
*Almost immediately MENDELYEV fell asleep ~ and had a DREAM*
So I had my title *AN IMPOSSIBLE DREAM* - All I needed to do now - was to Fit the most important Scientific Concept in the 19th C *The Periodic Table of Elements* (see above) into a Seven Line Poem ! MENDELYEVS simpler version - based on the then known 63 Elements was published in 1869 and met with both support & skepticism. MENDELEYEV described his Dream thus ~
*I saw in my mind a TABLE where all the known ELEMENTS fell into place as required. On awakening I immediately sketched it out on a piece of Paper. The elements were arranged in order of increasing Atomic Weight. This is what I had been searching for ! I called the TABLE ~ THE PERIODIC TABLE OF ELEMENTS !*
This is my 7 x 7 x 7 POEM *AN IMPOSSIBLE DREAM
This PERIODIC TABLE is based on MENDELYEVS ARRANGEMENTS of ELEMENTS
Arranged in ascending order of ATOMIC WEIGHTS (and leaving some gaps !).
*A PERIODIC TABLE* (similar to picture above) of 63 elements was revealed.
It was supported by known (1869) Science and the findings of other Chemists.
We now know that the Elegance & Purpose & Design of the PERIODIC TABLE
Is due to ORGANISATION of the ELECTRONS inside the ATOMS of each ELEMENT
The ELECTRON was not discovered until 30 years later by J J Thompson !
