Be not as the Pharisee
Who did pray with himself, see
Recounting his own good deeds
Seeing not his own true needs
But as publican did pray
He was justified that day
Stood afar off, did not count
Self worthy at mercy fount
For he stood, smote on his breast
Sought with repentance God\'s rest
Said, God do be merciful
To me, I a sinner all
No good deeds of self I show
Come before you, just as so
As I am, O heed my prayer
I pray humbly, you are there
For each one that self exalts
Shall be abased for their faults
And each one that self humbles
Shall be exalted, not falls
