Democracy vs. Bullocracy

Democracy

Born of honest statesmen

With visions of a grand country

Where freedom and liberty takes them

For every man, woman and child

With the God given right to live

Where morality dictates

If someone’s in need, then all can give

Taxes will be collected

To benefit all

As our country grows

Let the people stand tall

Our Declaration of Independence

United a new nation in reverence

Life, liberty and

The pursuit of happiness

That government of the people,

By the people, for the people,

Shall not perish from the Earth

That all men are created equal

Then somewhere along the way

The lines got blurred

Statesmen replaced by politicians

And Democracy infection incurred

Bullocracy

Born of deceitful capitalists

Forsaking the middle and lower class

To join the S&P 500 list

Abracadabra

And the tricks of a magician

Billionaires with deep pockets

Buying a dirty politician

Money well spent

For tax loop holes

Make a dollar off a penny

To feed your bankroll

Never mind helping to feed the poor

It’s survival of the fittest

You’ll sleep at night

You filthy rich bigot

They say

Money is the root of all evil

Its greedy businessmen and politicians

Who screw over the people

If our forefathers could see

Democracy victimized

For the good of who?

Not those with tears in their eyes

My how our world has changed

The 21st century gone crazy

Life as we know it

Democracy vs. Bullocracy
