Waiting for the Big E

Waiting for the Big E

I would

surely not

But for a fallen leaf

Be sitting here today

Sheltered from

The tears I first mistook

For raindrops as they were

Flung and fell and flew my way

For it is said and writ in

Certain holy books at least

Tis in the greater scheme of things

That truth and love do matter most

And I for one, am but a single mustard seed

So much smaller than a tiny grain of sand

On the face of it, insignificant perhaps

Tho basking in the golden shadow of enlightenment
