With the deepest of love
I look to the west
To the beautiful sunset
And you Sharon, the girl I love best
We both lived in Scituate, Massachusetts
Two children in 5th grade on the east coast
At the end of 8th grade, you moved away
Three thousand miles to the west coast
Heartbroken at 14 years old in ‘71
I didn’t know what to do
All I did know
Was how very much I love you
To this very day
I’ve never known love so strong
I’m amazed of my own heart
My love for you now 42 years long
As the day grows old
I remember long ago
Back then this love was young
For all time, I would let it grow
To the west I look with thoughts of you
Knowing your out there beyond my sunset
How my love still hungers for you Sharon
With a heart that won’t forget
Do you ever wake up early?
Looking eastward to the sunrise
Wondering if I’m still in love with you
By your smile, am I still hypnotized?
