BRIAN & I ~ Normally post our Poems in Classical Forms ! Sonnets - Pantoums - Villanelles - Acrostics etc. Because they limit the length of the Poem and give it some Rhyme & Rhythm for Recitation. MODERN POETRY on the other hand has no such limitations ! Any Subject - any Length - Not rhyme led (Free Verse) - simple metre - Plain Language - no superfluous verbiage. This is a Modern Poem I drafted (before I met Brian !) but have never posted. It is both SAD & SIMPLE !
I have experienced Loneliness - A
Feeling I was all on my own - alone !
WHY ? Im friendly - lively and outgoing.
I was OK at my Private Girls School
WE all survived through puberty - we had
So much in common - Physically - also
Emotionally - and our future Careers !
But as we developed - we ALL met BOYS !
I was a Day Girl - So I had much more
Opportunity than all the Boarders
To meet BOYS at my Church (Catholic) Youth Club
And Socials ! I travelled to School by TUBE.
I was Academic - little in common
With the Teens @ Church - So I felt LONELY !
A-levels - then PHYSIOTHERAPY
I hoped I would make some Friends @ College !
Again I was not in Residence - but
I had lots of Female Friends - studying
Radiography & types of Nursing.
The MEN assumed that Para-medical
Students were easy prey ! Im a devout
Catholic and valued my VIRGINITY !
The Men wanted SEX - I wanted LOVE &
MARRIAGE - so I was still very LONELY !

I was 28 when I first met BRIAN - Old enough & experienced enough to know that somehow he was very different ! He was 33 and although handsome & successful he too had never met the right person. He loved every aspect of me not just my Body. My devout Spirituality - He saw as an asset because He was a Deacon in an Evangelical Church ~ AMEN. Except for my 15 months in New Zealand - training to be a PHYSIO Tutor - I have never been lonely again since I met Brian. We are now happily married in our first Home together with Smokey Cat and expect to start our own Family soon ~ AMEN ~ Angela & Brian 💛💛💛
