The Sun

For all the work we have done

What does it matter to the sun?

For still it burns as it always has

We aren\'t its first nor its last

For all the wars we have fought

To the sun it matters not

For still it burns just as bright

No bombs we make could take its light

For all the times we have prayed

What does the sun ever say?

For while it burns and gives us day

It\'s sure each night to slip away

For all the riddles in our minds

The sun only watches from the sky

And even burns the wandering eye

So look ahead and wonder why

For all the rain which we all dance

The Earth survives alone on chance

The sun is God and we conform

Gold is cold so we may be warm

For all the stars that are gone

One still leaves the light on

Still it burns for all of us

That\'s a sun I can trust
