NO LONGER HEARD
Lodged upon life’s dangerous ledge
by temperamental ears discerned
the rise and fall of wild lament
as thoughts unfounded dominate
yet soon by revelation shunned
ignoring importunity
and in effectual consequence
the threnody no longer plays.
