Sea of Wealth

Poverty in my mind or heart?

Emptiness or abundance in my cart?

Failure in not seeing this from the start.

Yet I knew I was never that far apart.

From what she brought to the table.

That enabled.

My indecency to become able.

That secured my hand in hers.

With the wealth of sandy pearls.

We sifted for.

On the shore.

Where we walked enlaced.

Perpetually in grace.

Salt on our lips.

As we kissed…and…

Unknowingly as we were taken farther out so sea.

Alone and overflowing with greed.

To live a life once denied, yet now freed.
